Types of Rakeback

Rake is the money that the house or Poker room will take out of each pot at ring table games, also the fees when playing tournaments. Rakeback deals are a great way for Internet Poker players to get back some of the rake and fees that they pay to the Poker room. The most important thing to consider when deciding which rakeback deal you want to participate in is what kind of online Poker player you are.

Regardless if you are a tight player or tend to be more of an aggressive player, there is a rakeback deal that is sure to put a nice stack of chips in your account and a smile on your face. There are 3 common rakeback deals that are offered to players by online Poker rooms; Contributed Rakeback, Shared Rakeback and Dealt Rakeback. Contributed Rakeback is more aimed for players who are aggressive at the tables and like to see a lot of flops.

Now, Shared Rakeback is more for players who like to see a lot of flops, but are quick to fold if they don't hit. If you are a tight Poker player that only plays when holding the nuts or with position, Dealt Rakeback may be more your style. Below we will tell a little more about each of the different popular rakeback deals to assist you in choosing the one that will benefit you the most.

Contributed Rakeback

Contributed Rakeback is the most common rakeback deal that you will find around the web, however if you are a tight player that doesn't get into a lot of hands, you won't benefit much from contributed rakeback. Contributed rakeback means that you will get a percentage of the rake depending on what percent of the pot you contributed.

So if you are heads up in a $50 pot, you will have contributed more to the pot than if there were 5 players in the hand. This means that you will get a higher percentage of the total rake back when you have contributed more of the chips into the pot. This is a great choice for looser, more aggressive players who are not only in more hands, but also play aggressively, betting out other players and contributing more into the pot.

Shared Rakeback

If you are a looser player that likes to play a lot of hands and see a lot of flops, but are not one to chase or bet aggressively, Shared Rakeback may be the choice for you. With shared rakeback, no matter how much you actually contributed to the pot, or how long you stayed in the hand, as long as you contributed something to the pot, you will get a part of the rake back.

The biggest difference between shared rakeback and contributed rakeback is that no matter how much you put into the pot, or how many players are in the pot, you will still earn the same amount of the total rake back. So if you are not a real strong, aggressive bettor, but you still like to see a lot of flops, shared rakeback could end up being the most beneficial rakeback deal for you.

Dealt Rakeback

Now, if you are a tight player that will only play when either in good position, or when you have a top starting hand, the other two rakeback deals won't work too well for you as you are not going to find yourself in a lot of the hands. This is where dealt rakeback deals come in, specifically for all of you conservative, tight Poker players.

Dealt Rakeback is a bit different than either of the two above mentioned rakeback deals. Instead of getting a portion of the rake for hands that you are in, you will get some of all of the rake taken at that table. Of course, the dealt rakeback deals are often a much lower percentage than the other available rakeback deals, but for tight players, you will actually end up earning more in the long run by choosing dealt rakeback.
